Jerrica Brooks, BSN, RN

Jerrica was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Jerrica started working in the hospital industry in 2015, as a food service associate at Methodist Mansfield. She used this position as a stepping stone to the healthcare industry. In April 2016, she became a patient care tech and was employed a Methodist Charlton and Methodist Mansfield while completing her prerequisites for nursing school. Her desire to become a nurse began at a young age. At the age of 16, Jerrica was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. From her personal experience as a patient, Jerrica knew her purpose was to serve others. This goal later grew with her achievement and success in science courses during high school. During her free time, Jerrica enjoys volunteering and giving back to her community. Her volunteer work includes River Legacy Science Center and Mission Arlington. Jerrica currently lives in Arlington, TX. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing at Tarrant County College in May 2019. Her nursing career started as nurse resident at Methodist Mansfield on the Intermediate Care Unit. With her determination and ambition to further her education she later finished her ADN-BSN program at Midwestern State University in December 2020. Jerrica has also served on many organizational membership teams while employed as a nurse, including the Skin Wound Council, Journal Club and the Nurse Honor Guard. In November 2021, Jerrica took the leap of faith to advance her career by becoming a travel nurse. She is currently on a local travel assignment at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on the Progressive Care Unit. Her interest toward aesthetics grew from her sister’s experience as an esthethcian student at Ogle School. It was then Jerrica’s artistic nature flourished with the desire to open her own business and she took the steps to align her goals with her happiness. Jerrica’s hobbies include traveling, cooking, learning new things and meeting new people. She enjoys spending time with family/friends and taking walks with her dog, Booka Bear.
